Mia didn’t always plan on becoming a tattoo artist. Born and raised in New York, she originally pursued a degree in biochemistry at Providence College, where she earned a full scholarship. But everything shifted during her junior year, when a spontaneous trip to Key West sparked something unexpected. She instantly fell in love—with the island, the lifestyle, and eventually, with tattooing.

From Chemistry to Creativity

Instead of finishing college and going into science, Mia took a different path. She began her tattoo journey under the guidance of Jason Covington, a seasoned artist known for his bold traditional style. During her apprenticeship, she cleaned, drew nonstop, and helped run the shop before ever picking up a tattoo machine. This old-school training gave her a solid foundation and deep respect for the craft. While Jason specialized in American traditional, Mia naturally gravitated toward fine lines and botanical designs.

Today, Mia is known for her precise fine line work, soft black and gray shading, detailed florals, and colorful botanical pieces. Her background in science still influences her art—she approaches every tattoo with the same focus on detail and balance. Whether it’s a minimalist design or a vibrant full-color floral, Mia ensures every piece is thoughtfully placed and skillfully executed.
